A partir de un mapa generado mediante un trabajo de campo, se ubican las pantallas digitales existentes en la conocida calle madrileña y se estudia su grado de concentración, clasificándolas en función de su tamaño, calidad, visibilidad y el tipo de redes publicitarias. Este mapa permite establecer el tipo de funciones que desempeñan y que surgen en busca de la revitalización de la zona y de dar una continuidad histórica a la ambición de asimilarla a los míticos espacios neoyorkinos de Times Square y Broadway. Además, se demuestra que dichas pantallas han conseguido audiovisualizar, dinamizar y hacer más interactivos este espacio, a la vez que mejoran su reputación y generan una imagen de marca-ciudad más positiva centrada en la innovación.</p><p> </p><p class="tcolor"><strong>City and communication: effects and functions of digital advertising screens in the Gran Vía of Madrid</strong></p><p class="tcolor"><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>The aim of this research is to determinate the different reasons of the rise of digital outdoor advertising in the madrilian Gran Vía through digital screens and analyze the functions and effects on it. It is designed a map where these screens have been located. Thought this map, it is studied the degree of concentration of the screens. In addition, they are classified according to their size, quality, visibility and type of ad networks in which they appear. Furthermore, this research justify how these digital screens arise in search of the revitalization of the area and looking for a continuation of its historic ambition for being adapted to the legendary New Yorker spaces such as Times Square and Broadway. Besides, because of the introduction of these screens, Madrid not only refreshes their spaces, but also they become more dynamic and interactive improving its reputation and generating a city branding more positive where innovation is the main pillar.</p>}, number={16}, journal={Revista Prisma Social}, author={García Carrizo, Jennifer}, year={2016}, month={dic.}, pages={597–649} }
