Editorial quality

  • The manuscript review process is rigorous to ensure the quality of the content published in the journal. Authors are expected to revise their texts according to the reviewers' recommendations. If authors fail to perform these revisions and do not submit an appeal, the manuscript will be rejected.
  • Some articles may have excellent content but be poorly written in Spanish or English. This can be the case, for example, with authors whose native language is not Spanish or English. In this case, we can request that the author completely rewrite the article, regardless of the overall score it received. We have an Editorial Service that these authors can use to improve the written expression of their article.
  • The submitted originals make appropriate use of inclusive language according to the Report of the Royal Spanish Academy on inclusive language:  https://www.rae.es/sites/default/files/Informe_lenguaje_inclusivo.pdf .
  • The submitted originals adequately report on whether the research source data takes sex into account, in order to allow the identification of possible differences according to the proposals of the European Commission in Gender in Research: https://op.europa.eu/es/publication-detail/-/publication/c86c598f-8ae0-4aa1-bbcd-92134bbdfb0c .
