Preferencias residenciales en la atención a personas en situación de sin hogar

Las últimas décadas han producido importantes cambios en la comprensión del fenómeno del sinhogarismo. La “nueva ortodoxia” llevó a finales del siglo XX a reformular el concepto de persona sin hogar con cambios en los modelos de abordaje, que vinieron marcados por una orientación hacia una intervención no condicionada en vivienda individual. Treinta años más tarde, los límites de la nueva ortodoxia parecen estar marcados por la falta de reconocimiento de la agencia de las personas atendidas, y la potencial identificación de subgrupos internamente homogéneos dentro del sinhogarismo. Poniendo el acento en la agencia en las personas atendidas, el presente estudio muestra los resultados de 120 encuestas y 5 entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas a personas en situación de sinhogarismo sobre las preferencias residenciales en su atención. El estudio tiene como objetivo conocer las preferencias y expectativas en modalidades residenciales (albergues, vivienda individual y vivienda compartida) utilizadas por los servicios de apoyo a personas sin hogar, así como la identificación de las características poblacionales que pueden motivar ciertas preferencias hacia una tipología de recurso u otra. Se concluye que, pese a que vivienda individual resulta el recurso más valorado, existen determinadas características y circunstancias personales que parecen condicionar en ciertos casos la elección de albergues y viviendas compartidas. Abriendo de esta forma la posibilidad a la especialización de respuestas al sinhogarismo por grupos internamente homogéneos.
