Aims and Scope

Prisma Social (ISSN 1989-3469) is an open-access digital scientific journal dedicated to the analysis, understanding, and dissemination of research in the field of Social Sciences. It is currently edited and managed by Prisma Social Ediciones SL, the legal owner of the journal and the entity responsible for its editorial, technological, and academic development. Since its establishment in 2008, Prisma Social has consolidated itself as a reference platform for the study of contemporary social phenomena, rigorous scientific dissemination, and methodological and conceptual innovation in social research.

Prisma Social is a quarterly digital publication specialising in Social Sciences and social research. In addition to its four regular issues per year, the journal reserves the right to publish up to two additional special or monographic issues, depending on thematic relevance, academic partnerships, or scientific opportunities of particular interest.

The journal aims to give visibility to innovative research that contributes to:

  • Understanding contemporary social changes and trends.

  • Analysing cultural, communicative, community, or educational phenomena.

  • Deepening knowledge of social behaviours, structures, and representations.

  • Exploring the intersections between technology, society, and social innovation.

  • Enriching interdisciplinary dialogue within the Social Sciences.

Prisma Social upholds the principle that knowledge must be accessible, clear, and socially meaningful, while maintaining scientific rigour and a solid theoretical and methodological foundation.

From a social innovation perspective, attention must be given not only to innovative content itself but also to the ways in which it is communicated. Indeed, form is also content, just as content is intimately linked to particular modes of expression. Social behaviours, interests, habits, forms of social representation, social change and resistance to change, communication processes across media, demographic factors, lifestyles, and, in essence, all aspects of human behaviour are welcome within the scope of this journal. Contributions are accepted in Spanish and English.

The socialisation of scientific language is considered essential to effectively communicate research findings and facilitate their assimilation by society. Such assimilation is best achieved through clear, accessible, and engaging presentation of scientific results, without compromising academic precision, ethical commitment, or methodological rigour.

The exchange of scientific knowledge—not only among researchers from various fields but also among all members of society—is both a responsibility and a right, for it is society’s collective effort that makes research possible. We are all part of this process. Ultimately, the aim is to foster a reflective culture that promotes the understanding of social behaviour from a global perspective.

Only research articles will be accepted. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and derived from empirical studies. Research articles must be directly aligned with the journal’s thematic scope and scientific objectives.

All authors must read and consult the Publication Guidelines.
