Accounting discrimination, experiential exclusions: data and stories from disability

The article is part of the project 'MEDIM' -Measurement of Multiple Discrimination-, carried out by the UCM research group and funded by the Ministry of Economy. It proposes an analysis that combines different sources of information, both concerning secondary data (from various files: qualitative, documentary, statistical and survey), as well as those generated by the research team (qualitative and quantitative materials).
Its main specific objectives: 1) development of a conceptual framework on multiple discrimination, 2) assestment of elements that lead to discrimination, its externalisation or concealment (in relation to profiles and socio-economic contexts, values and existing legal framework), 3) analysis of the social discourses in circulation around discrimination, its recognition as a complex phenomenon of a multiple or concurrent nature.
As a starting point, contact is made with the social and political-administrative reality by analyzing the documentation produced (European and especially Spanish). This first approach serves as a starting point and contextualization of other related inquiries, with the usual review of the academic literature (social and legal sciences), from which a theoretical framework is developed to guide the empirical study (qualitative and quantitative). This article includes the chapter dedicated to 'multiple discrimination in relation to disability'.
