Care practices: intersubjectivity, intersectionality and social policies
Keywords:

In the debate between personal autonomy and dependency care, it is relevant to raise a discussion about care practices and policies. The objective is to problematize the phenomenon of care and reflect on the challenges posed by the establishment of care systems. At a methodological level, this bibliographic note reviews scientific-academic essays and articles by authors who have worked on care from feminist perspectives. Historically, this phenomenon has been relegated to the privacy of the home, the family, and particularly women (Borderías, et al., 2019). This naturalization and responsibility in the role of caregivers has been configured from a sex-gender system, which has made possible the differentiation of an ethic of care for women and an ethic of justice for men (Giligan, 1985). For feminisms, care has been a central axis, with ecofeminisms and community feminisms being some examples that stand out for delving into the subject. For its part, the concept of “Social Care” (Daly & Lewis, 2000) questions the functioning of the Welfare States and proposes a model of care from citizenship. The proposal of this bibliographic note is to project care systems that, through an intersectional analysis, address different categories involved in care, and consider an intersubjective dimension and social policies, for their emancipatory and social transformation potential.
