Socially, homeless people are often "invisible," however, this situation may be worse in certain groups. Thus, the objective of this exploratory study focused on analyzing whether there are gender differences in the situation experienced by homeless people in the city of Almería. For the development of this work, a theoretical model composed of two dimensions and five categories was developed, and a comparative analysis of the findings obtained in another social context (Valencia) was also conducted. Overall, the data show that there are gender differences in all categories (support networks, use of resources, self-perception of causes, physical and mental health, and experiences of victimization). Furthermore, the results obtained in the province of Almería largely coincide with the findings from another social context. The conclusions derived from this study emphasize the need to incorporate public policies that address the specific geographical reality and include a gender perspective in this social issue.
