Prediction of Organized Crime Networks in Ecuador Using an Expert System with Neutrosophic Plithogenic Logic

One of the biggest problems in today's world is violence. Latin America is one of the continents with the highest prevalence of this scourge worldwide. Ecuador is a country where criminal violence has seen a worrying upsurge. Among the manifestations of violence and crime in the country are organized crime networks, primarily linked to drug trafficking. The causes of this problem in Ecuador are multiple, such as poverty, social exclusion, and state neglect of aid to the country's most vulnerable sectors. There are also criminal networks that impose certain vulnerable segments of the population to commit crimes. This paper proposes a logical-mathematical model to be used for the prediction and study of organized crime networks. Specifically, it uses plithogenic logic, which extends fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy, and neutrosophic logic to a multidimensional context. This tool allows for the more reliable study of real-life phenomena, as it captures ambiguity, indeterminacy, contradiction, and multidimensionality. This tool, combined with an expert system, will allow patterns to be extracted and rules from specific situations for the analysis of potential organized criminal networks.
