University governance faces the challenge of responding to increasingly complex organizational environments characterized by digital transformation processes, demands for efficiency, and growing expectations for institutional participation. The objective of this study was to propose an interdisciplinary framework for integrating agile methodologies into university governance, aimed at improving administrative efficiency and strengthening stakeholder participation. A systematic and bibliometric review of scientific literature was conducted following the PRISMA protocol, analyzing articles indexed in high-impact databases published between 2020 and 2025. The results reveal the persistence of structural and cultural barriers, such as bureaucratic rigidity, resistance to change, and limited training in agile approaches; however, effective practices were also identified, including agile leadership, process digitalization, iterative communication, and adaptive planning, which contribute to institutional transformation. In addition, the bibliometric analysis shows a concentration of scientific production in Europe and Asia, along with limited representation of studies contextualized in Latin America. It is concluded that the integration of systematic evidence and bibliometric analysis enables the development of an interdisciplinary framework that guides the transition toward more flexible, sustainable, and digitally aligned models of university governance capable of addressing contemporary challenges in higher education.
