Los cuentos tradicionales y la integración de la programación y la robótica con el robot Kibo

Abstract

La investigación que presentamos surgió a partir de la implementación en el contexto del jardín de infantes del currículo "Ideas Poderosas y el Currículo del Robot KIBO: Los Cuentos Tradicionales para Niños, para la Integración de la Programación y la Robótica" desarrollado por (Miranda-Pinto, 2021) en una perspectiva de replicar este currículo previamente diseñado. Se utilizó la metodología de estudio de caso para observar las habilidades asociadas al pensamiento computacional, en un grupo específico de niños de preescolar, habiéndose implementado en junio/julio de 2021, con una duración de 20 horas. Utilizamos el marco de Desarrollo Tecnológico Positivo (Bers, 2018); (Bers, 2012) como principal herramienta de recolección de datos para observar los comportamientos de los niños, en las actividades con el robot KIBO. Los resultados revelan niveles máximos de los indicadores de las distintas dimensiones (6 «C´s»), lo que en preescolar es sinónimo de engagement y aprendizaje significativo. Sin embargo, este trabajo habría tenido los resultados más constantes si se hubiera desarrollado durante todo el año escolar, situación ideal cuando se integra la robótica en las actividades curriculares de preescolar. Investigaciones anteriores (Miranda-Pinto et al., 2021) permitieron entender que los conceptos de programación más complejos pueden ser trabajados cuando el trabajo avanza a un ritmo lúdico, paralelo al aprendizaje de los niños y de forma gradual a lo largo del año escolar.

Maribel Santos Miranda Pinto, Instituto Politécnico de Viseu

Currently coordinates the KML II Project - Laboratory of Programming and Learning Technologies for Preschool and Primary School in Portugal, co-funded by FEDER - European Regional Development Fund through COMPETE 2020 and by FCT (https://www.nonio.uminho.pt/kml2). Attended the Graduate Certificate Program in Early Childhood Technologies at Tuft University in the United States of America (2020/2021). She has a Postdoctoral in the area of Educational Technology with the project entitled "Kids Media Lab: Technologies and the Learning of Programming in Preschool Education" by the University of Minho, which was a project funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the reference SFRH/BPD/109205/2015. She has a PhD in the scientific branch of Education Sciences, Child Studies and in the knowledge area of Information and Communication Technologies, from the University of Minho, completed in 2009 (http://repositorium.sdum.uminho.pt/handle/1822/12571), this project was funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the reference SFRH/BD/22794/2005. She has a post-graduate degree in Multimedia in Education from the University of Aveiro, where she also obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education. She attended the 1st and 2nd year (complete), of the Degree in Institutional Communication, at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Informação e Administração - ISCIA, in Aveiro, between 1998/1999 and 1999/2000. Since September 2009 she is a full-time and exclusive Adjunct Professor in the area of Information and Communication Technologies, in the Department of Communication and Art, in the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu and since 2016 she joined the staff of the same institution. She has been a researcher at the Center for Research in Education at the University of Minho since 2005. At the School of Education of Viseu she teaches various curricular units of the Masters Courses in Education and Multimedia; Art, Design and Multimedia; Technological Education, Basic Education, Special Education and of the Degree Courses in Social Communication, Visual Arts and Multimedia, Basic Education, Social Education, Public Relations. She is supervisor of several master's and undergraduate projects in the areas of ICT, Educational Technology, Art, Design and Multimedia, Education and Multimedia. She has published a book (org.) infância no digital and Aprender com Robôs, several book chapters, articles in international journals and communications in national and international conferences. Besides the dynamization of @rcaComum (www.arcacomum.pt) and Kids Media Lab (www.kidsmedialab.pt) and KML2 (https://www.nonio.uminho.pt/kml2), his areas of research and interest are online CoP, learning communities, computational thinking, programming languages (ScratchJr and Scratch), educational robotics, mobile learning, teacher training. He is a member of scientific committees of several indexed journals and international and national conferences.
