Abstract

The aim of this article is to expose the descriptive study of the analysis of diversity and the measurement of attitudes towards diversity and detection of discrimination situations in a Colombian university. The study was based on the responses provided by 573 volunteer participants, members of the academic community of this higher education institution, including students, teachers, and collaborators. The analysis is presented based on five diversity variables: cultural, socioeconomic, sexual and gender, age, and special educational needs. Positive attitudes and perceptions regarding cultural, socioeconomic, sexual and gender diversity and special educational needs were evidenced. The general results show a tendency to present high scores, with averages close to the maximum possible in each variable and in each indicator. The analysis of diversity reveals cultural and age heterogeneity, with an equitable distribution between the sexes; Opportunities for inclusion in the institution are also observed in terms of sexual preference, place of origin and special educational needs.
